Five months after he was posted to Delta State, the Ughelli Area Commander, ACP Ademola Adebayo has commenced familiarization visit to divisions under the command to strengthen and encourage officers with a call for cooperation among security agents.
it would be recalled that ACP Ademola was posted from Rivers State to Ughelli Area Command as Area Commander in May 2023.
Addressing Police Officers at Ughelli ‘A’ divisionin Ughelli North Local Government Area, Ademola reiterated that the police is committed to protect lives, properties and citizens of Nigeria.
According to him, “Police are humans and they will not disappoint the people in the area but they cannot do it alone without the communities.
“Tell us when we are not doing it right because you are the people we are policing and we rely on you to be supportive to make the job effective.”
Ademola who cautioned officers to be good ambassadors of the job enjoined officers to create a lasting relationship with the people they are policing and they should operate as members of the community they are posted.
“Show passion and compassion on the people, cultivate good habit as a good officer because of after service and never compromise your position as police officers.
Denying the insinuation that police do protect their officers, ACP Adebayo disclosed that erring officers are never spared by the authority because it is believed that police ought to know the right thing and in their daily prayer as officers, they pray never to enter into police problem.
On vigilantes members, he urged member to work with their various DPOs and community leaders and never be too important even as they are performing their duties.
